The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen could be coming to Netflix soon. Recently featured in the Worth the Wait column on the New & Popular page, we expect Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 to be on Netflix sometime in April 2026, though we don’t have an exact date yet.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese anime series and adaptation of the manga of the same name by author Gege Akutami. By December 2025, it was announced that the manga had sold over 150 million copies, up from 80 million by July 2023. The first season was first added to Netflix US back in May 2024.

The anime is produced by Mappa, a Nakano-based studio that recently signed a strategic partnership with Netflix, promising to deliver brand-new projects and for Netflix to exclusively stream titles from the Mappa slate.

Outside of Asia, Crunchyroll holds the worldwide license to stream the latest episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen. As with many licensed anime titles, Netflix has to wait a period after the anime streams on Crunchyroll before it can license it for the Netflix library.

When is Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 coming to Netflix?

Currently, on the Netflix app or your web browser, you can find Jujutsu Kaisen in the “Worth and Wait” row of the New & Popular page.

However, no official release date has been listed on the Jujutsu Kaisen landing page. Typically, new licensed shows and films go live on the Worth the Wait row at the 30-day threshold. It suggests that season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will be released on Netflix sometime in April 2026.

What is the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2?

The second season’s plot is split into two arcs: the Hidden Inventory Arc and the Shibuya Incident Arc.

The plot of the Hidden Inventory Arc is as follows:

“In 2006, two best friends Satoru Gojo and Suguru Getou are attending Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, where the inseperable pair can be heard bickering. Thanks to their positions as special grade sorcerers, they exude an unshakable confidence. But their confidence, abilities, morals and their frienship is put to the test when they are instructed with delivering a girl named Riko Amanai to the high school in order to complete a ritual that that protects humanity from the jujutsu world.

The plot of the Shibuya Incident Arc is as follows:

“Twelve years after the Hidden Inventory Arc, the students of Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School have even more responsibility thrust upon them as they must contend with the ever-rising number of high-level curses. These high-level curses are more self-aware, and unite for a common goal in eradicating the humans, and creating a world of cursed energy users. In order to complete their goal, the curses must remove Satoru Gojo, the strongest sorcerer. They begin their plan with an orchestrated attack on Shibuya Station, where the sorcerers spring into action to defend the innocents.”
