What’s Coming To HBO Max In May 2026

This coming May, HBO Max subscribers in the United States will be able to enjoy plenty of new original programming such as the return of “On The Roam”, plus new original shows and documentaries, plus licensed content, including some films from the popular 20th Century Studios franchise, “Die Hard”.

Disney currently offers a special bundle for HBO Max with Disney+ and Hulu, which is priced at $19.99 for the ad-supported tiers of each platform, or $32.99 for the ad-free version of the bundle.

Here are some of the highlights of what’s coming to HBO Max in May:

Wuthering Heights

A bold and original interpretation of one of the greatest love stories of all time, Emerald Fennell’s “WUTHERING HEIGHTS” stars Margot Robbie as Cathy and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, whose forbidden passion for one another turns from romantic to intoxicating in an epic tale of lust, love and madness.

On The Roam

ON THE ROAM is a six-part cinematic docuseries following Jason Momoa as he travels the country chasing art, adventure, and friendship through the lens of craftsmanship.

Josh Johnson: Symphony

Johnson debuts original material about our shared experiences as humans – tackling topics like family, religion, and relationships through his unique point of view and signature creativity. Viewers can expect a truly original and unforgettable experience. The special was filmed at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles.

Song Of The Samurai

Set in Kyoto at the end of the Edo period, Song of the Samurai explores the intense and passionate lives of the Shinsengumi – the iconic samurai force that defended Kyoto in the final years of Japan’s shogunate – through spectacular action and a bold interpretation based on historical facts. Street brawler Toshizo Hijikata (Yuki Yamada), finds a new kind of family in Isami Kondo and Soji Okita. Hijikata and his comrades in the Shinsengumi forge a bond of loyalty – tested by betrayal, illness, and war – as they fight not only their enemies but their own ideals.
