“Chad Powers” Co-Creator Michael Waldon Renews Overall Deal With 20th Television
One of the most popular shows to be released on Hulu and Disney+ last year was “Chad Powers”, which tells the story of what happened to hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday, who, eight years, after an unforgivable mistake nukes his promising college football career, tries to resurrect his dreams by disguising himself as Chad Powers – a talented oddball who walks on to the struggling South Georgia Catfish.
Deadline has revealed that the show’s co-creator, Michael Waldon, who is also the executive producer and showrunner of “Chad Powers”, has renewed his overall deal with 20th Television. Michael has also previously worked on “Heels” and “Rick and Morty”.
As part of this deal, Michael Waldon will continue to write, develop, direct and produce series for linear networks and streamers, with an emphasis on platforms across Disney Entertainment Television, via Anomaly Pictures, his company with producing partner Adam Fasullo.
Karey Burke, president of 20th Television, said in a statement regarding the deal:
“Michael Waldron brings a creative tenacity to every project he’s involved with that’s truly contagious. His unique voice and passion permeate all of his work, and he elevates everyone around him. We couldn’t be happier that he will continue to call Disney and 20th Television his creative home for the years to come.”
With Michael adding:
“I’m proud to continue my partnership with the home team at Disney. Dana [Walden], Craig [Erwich], and Karey are great collaborators who take chances on wild ideas,. Speaking of which, I’d like to use this opportunity to remind you to tune into Chad Powers Season 2, coming to Hulu this Fall!”
