Xbox Game Pass is making three games entirely free for its members this weekend, and players may want to check them out. Microsoft’s subscription service already offers hundreds of different games to its subscribers, and each month comes with new additions that expand the catalog. For example, a gorgeous open-world game arrived on Xbox Game Pass a few days ago as a day-one release. However, on top of the regular additions, the service also offers temporary freebies.

Every weekend, members gain access to different games that aren’t part of the regular catalog and play them for a short period as part of the Free Play Days initiative. These are the complete versions of the games, not demos, but the time to play them is limited. The latest batch of free games on Xbox Game Pass was announced in a post on the official Xbox Wire website, highlighting what players will gain access to and during which period they’ll be able to play them for free.

From May 14 to May 17, Xbox Game Pass members will be able to play Battlefield 6, Bassmaster Fishing, and JDM: Japanese Drift Master entirely for free, as part of the Free Play Days on Xbox Game Pass, regardless of their subscription tier. This means that Essential, Premium, and Ultimate members can all enjoy these games without having to pay for anything extra. To download these games, you’ll need to download them individually, for free, via the Microsoft Store using your membership.

The list highlights all three games featured in Free Play Days this weekend:

It is worth noting that after May 17, you won’t be able to continue playing these games unless you purchase them, as the Free Play Days event will be over. As part of the initiative, however, all of these games are being offered at a limited-time discount on the Microsoft Store, so if you enjoyed one or more of the titles, you can take advantage of these exclusive Xbox Game Pass benefits.

If none of these games are particularly appealing to your preferred styles or genres, there are still several different titles you can play for free via the catalog. For Ultimate members, there will soon be Forza Horizon 6, which may be a substitute for JDM: Japanese Drift Master, for example. There’s also a new 2026 GOTY contender on Xbox Game Pass that arrived as a day-one release a few days ago.

Even within the Essential catalog, which is a lot more limited than the Premium and Ultimate catalogs, there are plenty of great titles, like Vampire Survivors, Dead Cells, and much more. Taking advantage of the Free Play Days is a chance to get to know games you wouldn’t play otherwise, but there are always options with Xbox Game Pass.
