It’s been a bittersweet time for ***Ted Lasso **fans in recent weeks. As excitement continues to build for the hotly anticipated fourth season of the heartwarming soccer series, news also arrived that the show had lost one of its own: Anthony Stewart Head, the British actor known for portraying Rupert Mannion in the Apple TV series, passed away at 72. Also beloved for portraying Rupert Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as well as roles in the likes of Doctor Who, The Iron Lady, Persuasion, and much more, Head was one of the very best, and his passing is sure to be honored when Ted Lasso *returns.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico now in full swing, excitement for* Ted Lasso *has perhaps never been higher. But it’s now been over three years since we last spent time with everyone’s favorite wise-talking optimist, and many are wondering where the show will pick up after Ted made the difficult decision to step down from his position to go back home to Kansas and become closer to his son, Henry. Season 4 will begin with Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt), who will start their journey as coaches of a new women’s division at AFC Richmond. The men’s team will now hunt for glory under new no-nonsense manager Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein).
“As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,’ in season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be,” said Sudeikis in a perfectly Ted-esque statement about the show’s return. He will once again executive produce alongside the likes of Goldstein, Hunt**, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel**, with Emmy Award winner Jack Burditt of Modern Family fame joining the executive producer team.
Your answers point to the iconic universe your values, your instincts, and your particular way of seeing the world were built for. This is where you would find your people — and your purpose.
You believe in the cause — in the idea that freedom is worth fighting for even when the odds are impossible and the empire is vast.
You understand, in the deepest part of yourself, that the journey matters as much as the destination — and that the world’s beauty is worth protecting even at great cost.
You believe that love, loyalty, and doing what’s right are not naive sentiments — they are the most powerful forces in any world, magical or otherwise.
You see the world clearly — its power structures, its hypocrisies, its brutal arithmetic — and you are not paralysed by that clarity. You use it.
You believe the future is worth building — that curiosity, cooperation, and the expansion of understanding are not just ideals but the most practical path forward for any civilisation.

Ted Lasso has spent 878 days on the U.S. top ten, longer than any other show.
