Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.
For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider’s news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.
He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.
His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan’s work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.

The Winds of Winter are blowing in the distance, bringing in cold, hope and a new project from the world of Westeros, so let’s start checking the skies for dragons. Yes, citizens, George R.R. Martin is giving Westerosi wanderers something new to put on their shelves before the end of July.
Martin has confirmed, via his blog Not a Blog, that the A Song of Ice and Fire 2027 Calendar will be released on July 21, with pre-orders already live. The new calendar features 12 original pieces of Westeros artwork by illustrator Tyler Jacobson, along with a fold-out poster for fans who would prefer their walls to look slightly more terrifying. The calendar will feature a ton of artwork from the entirety of the continents of Essos and Westeros, with plenty of ground to cover including the Stark family and the Targaryen dynasty to the more obscure corners of Westerosi history that have become increasingly important through the franchise’s books and screen adaptations.
It’s also arriving 30 years since A Game of Thrones first hit shelves in 1996 quietly, before decades later going on to become one of the most famous, successful and recognizable fantasy franchises on the planet, spawning television shows Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and a growing list of upcoming projects.
Your answers point to the world your instincts were built for. This is the universe your temperament, your survival instincts, and your particular brand of stubbornness were made for.
You took the red pill a long time ago — probably before anyone offered it to you. You’re a systems thinker who can’t help but notice the seams in things.
The wasteland doesn’t reward the clever or the well-connected — it rewards those who are hard to kill and harder to break. That’s you.
You’d survive here because you know how to exist in moral grey areas without losing yourself completely.
Arrakis is the most hostile environment in the known universe — and you are precisely the kind of person it rewards.
The galaxy far, far away is vast, loud, and in a constant state of violent political upheaval — and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
It’s perfect timing because, despite the fact Game of Thrones concluded years ago, Martin’s world is still just as popular as ever. House of the Dragon Season 3 is getting right into the meat of the Dance of the Dragons, while A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has already found a strong audience with its small stakes and most intimate take on Martin’s world. Martin is also hard at work as a producer on Alex Garland‘s upcoming Elden Ring adaptation, having already contributed to the making of the massively successful video game. Martin also serves as a producer on AMC’s Dark Winds, which is beginning its fifth and final season now.
The A Song of Ice and Fire 2027 Calendar arrives July 21.
