Netflix has had a huge year in 2026, bringing back some of its most beloved new projects. One show to return earlier this year was The Night Agent, the spy thriller show starring Gabriel Basso that’s been positioned as Netflix’s answer to Reacher. Despite declining viewership in each of its first three seasons, Netflix doubled down on The Night Agent, renewing the show for Season 4, which has since been announced as the final season. Another massively popular Netflix show that returned earlier this year is The Lincoln Lawyer, which came back for its fourth season in as many years after premiering in 2022.
The show is inspired by the series of* Lincoln Lawyer *novels by Michael Connelly, who also wrote the books that inspired Titus Welliver’s Bosch franchise. Netflix has renewed The Lincoln Lawyer for Season 5, but it’s also been confirmed that the show is ending after its next season, which is expected to arrive next year.
A few months back, The Lincoln Lawyer’s showrunner confirmed that the final season of the series will feel complete, telling Collider, “We could have kept this show going for another season or two, and we had ideas to do that. But, we are very grateful to Netflix for giving us the opportunity to wrap the show up correctly.”
Starring in the lead role of Mickey Haller in Netflix’s Lincoln Lawyer series is Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who also recently featured as Reuben in Jurassic World: Rebirth. Matthew McConaughey played the role of Mickey Haller in the 2011 Lincoln Lawyer film that’s currently streaming on Peacock. It has been officially confirmed that **The Lincoln Lawyer is already getting a spin-off. Cobie Smulders’ Emi will take center stage in the first Lincoln Lawyer offshoot, which is being written by Ted Humphrey, Dailyn Rodriguez, and Matthew J. Lieberman. No word on a potential release date yet, but it’s being eyed for a “quick turnaround.” Netflix reportedly loved the first pitch and immediately agreed for the new show to move forward.
